The former UFC light heavyweight champion Jiri Prochazka is out due to his shoulder injury in November. The UFC 282 was supposed to find his successor, but unfortunately, it ended in a draw.
Former Champion Jan Blachowicz faced Magomed Ankalaev in a five-round bout in the main match of UFC on Saturday in T-Mobile Arena. The fight ended in a draw as the judges split their scores relatively evenly. Judge Mike Bell scored the round 48-47 in favor of Blachowicz, whereas Judge Derek Cleary favored Ankalaev with a score of 48-46. However, the final judge Sal D’Amato scored them evenly, 47-47, which resulted in a split draw.
After the end of the fight, Blachowicz immediately raised Ankalaev’s hand as if marking him the winner. But in reality, Ankalaev would have lost the match if he hadn’t performed excellently in the fifth round. Judge Cleary and D’Amato favored Ankalaev in the final game by scoring 10-8, which is why the fight ended in a draw.
