U.S. Rep. Dwight Evans wins Democratic Primary 3rd District Representative Race
US Rep. Dwight Evans easily won the congressional race for the Democratic nomination for Philadelphia's 3rd congressional district. He led by 78% of the vote over his nearest contender Alexandra Hunt.

Evans won the Democratic nomination with a 4-to-1 vote margin over Alexandra Hunt. The primary election was held by the Associated Press on Tuesday at 9:41 p.m.
Congressman Dwight Evans is a native of Northwest Philadelphia, where he served 18 terms in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and then won a special election in 2016. He represents most of the Black district, including almost the entire Philadelphia west of Broad Street.
Alexandra Hunt, a 29-year-old public health researcher from New York, is a political newcomer. Although she gained massive national media attention by waging her campaign, she fell to US Rep. Evans in the Democratic nomination race.
Hunt came into the limelight through her campaign through an OnlyFans account and pushing progressive agendas such as Medicare for All and the Green New Deal.
The report by the Associated Press showed that Evans bagged more than 78% of the vote while Hunt secured 18% of the vote. Another candidate Cogbill rounded off the election results with 4% of the vote.
This year, no US Republican candidate challenged the race for the district, which means the primary election's winner will directly go to the House of Representatives in January. So, Evans will run unchallengedly in the general election.
After his win, Evans told his message in the victory statement to Billy Penn that their (voters') trust and belief in his work in the DC inspired him to go forward. He conveyed his thankfulness for the moment they were building together.
