Donald Trump is ahead in three Sun Belt battleground states, per a New York Times poll. According to a new poll by the New York Times and Siena College, former president Donald Trump leads Vice President Kamala Harris in three crucial battleground states: Arizona, North Carolina, and Georgia.

The survey, which was conducted from September 17 to 21, was conducted among 713 voters in Arizona, 682 voters in Georgia, and 682 voters in North Carolina. It was released on Monday. The margin of error for each state ranges from four to five percentage points. Concerns regarding the economy, immigration, abortion, and the nation's overall direction were voiced by voters in each of the three states.

The majority of respondents thought poorly of both candidates; 50% thought poorly of Trump and 51% thought poorly of Harris. Trump leads by a slim 49-47 margin in North Carolina, a state that hasn't supported a Democratic presidential candidate since 2008. However, Trump is now ahead of Harris by a slightly larger margin in Arizona and Georgia, two states that President Joe Biden narrowly won in the 2020 election: 50-45 in Arizona and 49-45 in Georgia.

With the Sept. 10 presidential debate, both campaigns have been focusing their efforts on swing states. Harris recently participated in two protests in North Carolina and made an appearance at an event promoting women's rights in Atlanta, Georgia, on Friday. Although her visit to Arizona is planned for later this week, the campaign has not yet revealed the city she will be visiting. Trump also held rallies in Wilmington, North Carolina, and Tucson, Arizona, after the debate. On Tuesday, he is scheduled to campaign in Savannah, Georgia.
