Haliburton’s turnover-free triple-double powers Pacers to victory

Tyrese Haliburton delivered a historic postseason performance Tuesday night, scoring 32 points with 15 assists and 12 rebounds without committing a turnover. His efficiency and all-around impact helped the Indiana Pacers defeat the New York Knicks 130-121 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, securing a 3-1 lead in the Eastern Conference finals.

Haliburton’s feat marks the first triple-double with at least 30 points, 15 assists, and 10 rebounds without turnovers in postseason history, dating back to 1977-78 when turnovers were first tracked, according to ESPN Research. Only Nikola Jokic in 2023 and James Harden in 2021 achieved similar regular-season performances.

Pascal Siakam contributed 30 points, while Haliburton also recorded four steals in his second career postseason triple-double. Obi Toppin’s crucial three-pointer with 46 seconds remaining sealed the win for Indiana. The Pacers have avoided consecutive losses since March 10, maintaining momentum heading toward Game 5.

Knicks unable to overcome deficit despite strong scoring

Jalen Brunson led New York with 31 points, supported by Karl-Anthony Towns’ double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds, and OG Anunoby’s 22 points. However, the Knicks were unable to overcome another double-digit deficit. Towns left the game late in the fourth quarter after sustaining a left knee injury but finished the contest. This marked the first home-team victory in the series.

The game featured a competitive start, with both teams shooting over 70% early on. Indiana took a 43-35 lead by the end of the first quarter. New York fought back in the second quarter to regain the lead multiple times, but Haliburton helped the Pacers finish the half on a 6-0 run, leading 69-64 at halftime. Indiana then increased its intensity in the third quarter, extending its lead to 102-91 entering the fourth quarter.
