Haliburton showed visible discomfort on multiple occasions, grabbing at the leg during his 10-minute stint in the first quarter. He then headed to the locker room and returned with the leg wrapped, re-entering the game with 8:27 remaining in the second quarter.
Haliburton entered Game 5 of the NBA Finals averaging 17.8 points, 7.5 assists, and six rebounds. He went scoreless in the first half - the first time in his 36 career playoff games he failed to register a point before halftime.
The Pacers were trailing 45-59 against the Thunder at the half-time break.
Ahead of Game 3, Haliburton downplayed the issue, saying there wasn’t much to discuss.
“I’m fine. Really just a lower leg thing. I’ll leave it at that,” AP quoted Haliburton as saying. “I don’t think there’s anything more to elaborate.”
Haliburton finally got on the board with two free throws at the 7:07 mark of the third quarter, but his limited mobility raised concerns about his impact for the remainder of the game.
