Two killed in shooting at Whistler Village, 2 suspects arrested

According to police, they found one man who died and the second person was injured. They tried to save the man, but he died in the hospital. Officers followed a vehicle on Highway 99 and stopped it near Squamish. Two people have been arrested in connection with the shooting, according to police.

At Sundial Crescent, near Showcase Snowboards, there was police tape and a paramedic vehicle on Sunday afternoon. Emergency responders were on site, cordoning off a portion of the storefront. After social media spread unconfirmed reports of a shooting, people sought refuge in nearby businesses.
According to the owner of a grocery store in Whistler Village, they kept their doors closed as a precaution on Sunday noon. Dykstra continued that this significantly impacts the community and makes people scared. However, they don't believe that people are in more danger.
As a result of the shooting, the popular tourist destination 120 kilometers north of Vancouver was shut down. Whistler Blackcombtweeted and declared that RCMP has officially cleared the said Whistler area from danger. Also, they announced that the resort would remain closed for the day.
The resort gave out a statement that said that the team the resort is deeply saddened and shocked by this act of violence, which makes no sense.
