Two people were fatally shot late Sunday evening, June 8, on the Las Vegas Strip in what police are calling a targeted incident stemming from a prior social media conflict.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers responded to gunfire near the Bellagio Hotel & Casino at approximately 10:40 p.m. on June 8. Upon arrival, officers found two individuals with gunshot wounds. Both victims were later pronounced dead.

Authorities identified the suspect as 41-year-old Manuel Ruiz. He turned himself in at a Henderson police station the following day, according to a statement released Monday by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. Ruiz is scheduled to be booked at the Clark County Detention Center on two counts of open murder with a deadly weapon.
Las Vegas Undersheriff Andrew Walsh described the shooting as both isolated and deliberate. Investigators believe the suspect and the victims were acquainted and had engaged in a dispute via social media prior to the shooting.
No further information about the victims has been released pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities emphasized that the shooting did not pose a broader threat to the public and confirmed that no additional suspects are being sought in connection with the incident.
The Las Vegas Strip, a major tourist destination, has seen a number of high-profile security incidents in recent years, prompting increased patrols and law enforcement visibility.
