Once play resumed, DaShawn Keirsey Jr. singled, and Red Sox reliever Jordan Hicks (1-7) hit back-to-back batters to load the bases. Boston managed a forceout at home before Lee came through with a clutch single to left, scoring two and sealing the win.
Keirsey finished 2-for-4 with a two-run homer that opened the scoring in the third, while Christian Vazquez added an RBI on a sacrifice fly in the sixth.
Royce Lewis also contributed with two hits as the Twins snapped a two-game skid. Jhoan Duran (6-4) earned the win despite allowing a run in the top of the ninth.
Boston’s offense was powered by Alex Bregman, who went 2-for-5 and crushed a three-run homer in the fifth inning to give the Red Sox a 3-2 lead. It was his 14th home run of the season and second in as many games.
Roman Anthony added an RBI single in the ninth to momentarily put Boston ahead 4-3, following two stolen bases by David Hamilton, who had entered as a pinch runner.
Wilyer Abreu went 3-for-4 for Boston, which dropped the opener of the series. Hicks was charged with two runs on two hits in just one-third of an inning as Minnesota staged a thrilling comeback.
