Possible re-release of the Twilight saga has been announced by the official Lionsgate social media pages, all five of them (Twilight films), making the vampire epic fandom set for a rave, as Lionsgate, shared a poster of the Twilight saga on Wednesday, August 27, with the caption, ‘Tomorrow”, hinting at more information to be released today, Thursday.

There hasn’t been an update as of the time this article was written, however, interesting comments on the Instagram post, like, “I’ll Venmo you $5, if you tell me right now”, in response to the ‘Tomorrow’ caption summarises the hype.

Why Twilight is a cult classic

The re-release is expected to be in October across theatres worldwide, with five films of the saga to be released. The Twilight saga films are Twilight (2008), New Moon (2009), Eclipse (2010), Breaking Dawn – Part 1 (2011) and Breaking Dawn – Part 2 (2012).

With stars like Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner, who embellished their names from the saga, several other names such as Billy Burke, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene, Jackson Rathbone, Justin Chon, Anna Kendrick, Michael Welch, Christian Serratos and Sarah Clarke played roles in making this series, a fan-favourite.

Catherin Hardwicke, the director of the film had once stated to The Hollywood Reporter in 2023, on why this movie feels special to her, she said, “Everybody wants to have that first love. That’s just undeniable. That’s just a head rush that makes you feel ecstatic. A love that’s like a drug…. And that’s what I was really trying to create in the movie.”

The first film grossed over $400 million worldwide, which set the pace for a collective overall collection of $3.3 billion worldwide for the five-film saga.

What happened to Midnight Sun, animated Twilight movie

The Economic Times had also reported on a possible release of an animated film of the remake of “Midnight Sun”, which is a change in narrative of the original Twilight saga, with Edward, a vampire, Jacob, a werewolf, and Bella a high-school girl, and Edward tries to control his vampire instincts amid his profound love for Bella.

The report which was based on a TVHint article, stated expected release somewhere in early 2025, however, there have been no further updates.
