TV Nominations for Critics' Choice Awards are led by 'Abbott Elementary'

Posthumous nominations were given to late actors Ray Liotta and Leslie Jordan.

"Abbott Elementary" has received the most nominations for television at the 2023 Critics Choice Awards, with six. The ABC comedy series received nominations for best comedy series, best actress in a comedy series won by Quinta Brunson, best supporting actress in a comedy series (Janelle James and Sheryl Lee Ralph) and best supporting actor in a comedy series (both Tyler James Williams and Chris Perfetti).

Better Call Saul was nominated for five awards, including best actor in a drama series (Bob Odenkirk), best drama series, best-supporting actress in a drama series (Jennifer Aniston) (Carol Burnett and Rhea Seehorn) and best-supporting actor in a drama series (Giancarlo Esposito).

Prey on Hulu and Weird: The Weird Al Yankovic Story on The Roku Channel are two more prominent finalists for the best movie created for television.


Amber Midthunder and Daniel Radcliffe, their respective protagonists, were also nominated for best actress and actor in a limited series or movie created for television. Evil Sisters, Freshman dramas Andor, House of the Dragon, and Severance were nominated for series, as were first-season comedies The Bear and Reboot.
