The United States is about to witness a change next month as Republican gubernatorial primaries are arranged for May in six states. The former president is backing up candidates who are challenging two sitting GOP governors.

After Kemp was challenged by Perdue, Trump seriously considered this situation and now is trying to publicly pull the previous senator into the race. The former president is also openly supporting campaigns started by Perdue. Trump has also immediately endorsed a campaign that was started in December. Speaking about this endorsement, Taylor Budowich, a spokesperson for Trump, said that this endorsement is one of the most powerful forces in politics.

Kemp’s outraising Perdue by eleven points among GOP prime voters was an overwhelming situation. Now, the bigger question is whether Trump will not hesitate to spend his $110 million treasury funds to encourage his endorsed candidates.

Martha Zoller, who is a Georgia-based GOP operative, said that the situation is never clear; sometimes Donald Trump outweighs it, and sometimes Kemp does so. Donald Trump still believes that the 2020 election was not done ethically. During Perdue’s recent ad, some parts of the 2020 election’s March rally in Georgia were highlighted where Trump had attacked Kemp with words such as “turncoat” and further said that there was a huge fraud in voting

Trump has endorsed two open seats in the May GOP. He agreed on a radio show that beating Kemp as a sitting governor is not a straightforward task. Now, it is unclear whether or not Trump will endorse the race. And according to Kellyanne Conway, the person endorsed by Donald Trump has a significant chance of becoming the Republican nominee. However, this endorsement of Donald Trump for the GOP can either be a boon or a bane.

How much can Donald Trump influence the ballots in May?

  • Both allies and opponents of former President Donald Trump are sure that the May ballot will be a test of how much power Trump still holds.
  • Georgia Lt. Gov. Geoff and a very vocal critic of Trump say that the sooner they get through the May primaries, the faster they will put Trump past them. She presents that the most crucial test will not be just over the party, but arguably during the entire election cycle.
  • GOP candidates disagree with Georgia's judgment. They are still looking forward to any endorsement from Trump, trying to get any shine by associating with Trump's confidants.
  • Tom Luna says the impact of covid and new laws regarding vaccines is probably the famous argument and dispute in this campaign. He points down to how everyone was talking and writing about Trump when he first endorsed McGeachin.

How are things playing out in Nebraska?

  • Another race is going on in Nebraska between Trump and the co-chairperson of RGA Pete Ricketts.
  • Trump has shown that his support is with Charles Herbster. Charles has been a long-time ally of Trump despite Ricketts's attempt to dissuade Trump.
  • On another hand, Ricketts has endorsed Jim Pillen. But important to note here is that Pillen is not showing a stance against Trump, but instead is promising to protect Trump's legacy.
