Donald Trump’s right hand had a big bruise when he signed two executive orders in the Oval Office on Monday. Photos showed a large black spot on the back of his right hand. He held the orders with his left hand while his bruised right hand rested on the Resolute Desk. His left hand also looked a little bruised, but not as badly as the right hand.

During most of the signing, Trump tried to hide the bruise by covering his right hand with his left hand.
Last week, he seemed to use makeup to cover the bruise, but this time the dark bruise was visible and no makeup could hide it, as reported by The Mirror.

People on social media noticed and reacted: one person asked, “What’s he hiding?” while showing a video of Trump covering his right hand. Some users said bruising is normal as you get older and criticized others for focusing on Trump’s hand instead of other issues like Biden’s cognitive ability, as per the reports.

The White House has explained that the bruising comes from Trump shaking hands with many world leaders and also from taking aspirin for heart health. Trump met several leaders recently, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and six European allies, shaking all their hands before a big meeting about security for Ukraine, as stated in the report by The Mirror.

Trump health condition

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in July that photos showing minor bruising are “consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin,” and she described it as a “well-known and benign side effect.”

Leavitt also said Trump “remains in excellent health” and that people see this every day at the White House. Trump has reportedly used concealer to hide the bruise for several weeks and months. On Friday, press pool members noticed the makeup was obvious because it looked different from his skin tone. The makeup on his hand sparked concerns from both his supporters and critics, as per the report by The Mirror.

In July, the White House said Trump has chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), a condition that reduces blood flow in parts of the body, especially the arms and legs. CVI mostly affects people over 70, and Trump is 79.

This condition also causes his ankles to swell, making them look very large and sometimes pushing against his shoes. Overall, the bruising on Trump’s hand is linked to his handshakes, aspirin use, and CVI, but the White House says he is otherwise in good health, as reported by The Mirror.
