Monday: private arrival and Windsor Castle stay
Trump and First Lady Melania Trump arrived Monday evening for the start of their state visit. Palace officials scheduled no public events for the opening day, with the presidential couple remaining within Windsor Castle's private grounds overnight.
Tuesday: royal ceremonies and state banquet completed
Tuesday's ceremonial events included formal welcomes from the Prince and Princess of Wales, followed by official ceremonies with the King and Queen. Military salutes fired simultaneously from Windsor Castle's east lawn and the Tower of London.The ceremonial carriage procession through Windsor estate featured the royal family alongside the Trumps, with Armed Forces personnel lining the route. Three military bands representing the Royal Marines, Army, and RAF provided music during the procession.
The presidential couple viewed Royal Collection items related to American history in the Green Drawing Room before participating in State Dining Room events with royal family members.
The private visit to Queen Elizabeth II's tomb at St George's Chapel included wreath-laying ceremonies and chapel choir performances. Tuesday concluded with Red Arrows aerial displays, F-35 flyovers, and the traditional state banquet where both Trump and Charles delivered speeches.
Wednesday: final day political meetings at Chequers
Wednesday's schedule moves to Chequers, the Prime Minister's country residence, where Trump will meet Sir Keir Starmer and Lady Victoria. RAF Halton honor guards and bagpipers will provide the ceremonial greeting.Trump's agenda includes viewing Winston Churchill archives before conducting bilateral discussions with the Prime Minister. A business reception hosted by the Chancellor will bring together political and economic leaders.
