Trump praises Obama for the first time; here's what he said

One small statement by Donald Trump has now sent shockwaves in the political fraternity of the United States ahead of the Democratic National Convention 2024. Trump, known for bashing his opponents Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Tim Walz and other Demo...

Donald Trump, Barack Obama
There are a few moments in American politics which one would never want to forget, or even treasure in their memories for a long term. Such has been the recent case when Donald Trump, ahead of the Democratic National Convention 2024, went on to state that he had a liking for Barack Obama and held a lot of respect for him. However, he also mentioned that Barack Obama was a little weal 'in the trade' of running the country and American politics.

Donald Trump's statement also involves Obama's wife

Donald Trump also showered praise on former First Lady Michelle Obama also, claiming that he respected both Barack and his wife. He also claimed that Obama was a 'nice gentleman', which is one of the most interesting comments, as looking back at history would reveal that Trump had bashed the Obamas in whatever way he could during his first Presidential campaign. He did not explicitly stop after that, taking out occasions to take a dig at Barack.

Trump's previous statements against Obama

Trump had dropped several false claims, and scathing marks on Barack Obama and his style of running the country, during Trump's first campaign, when he was competing against the Democrats' Hillary Clinton, whom he beat to become President for the first time.

It is rather interesting to see Trump suddenly changing his tune and speaking well about Obama and his wife, and the American audience as well as political analysts are already thinking whether this could be another political trick by Trump to demonstrate his softer side, something he has been seeing showing for the last few months. Since everything in US politics is about optics, this could well be another little gimmick to gain some support.
