California Governor Gavin Newsom gave a sharp comeback to Donald Trump after the president mocked his hand movements. The clash began during a cabinet meeting on Tuesday, where Trump launched into an unusual rant about Newsom. Trump called Newsom “an incompetent governor” and said, “I know him very well. He’s incompetent.”

The president, who is 79 years old, started by praising Newsom, saying “He’s a nice guy, looks good.” Then Trump suddenly changed tone and imitated Newsom’s hand gestures, saying “‘Hi everybody, how you doing?’ He’s got some strange hand action going on.” While mocking, Trump waved his arms around wildly to copy the governor’s mannerisms, as per the report by Irish Star.

Trump health concerns grow

Trump added, “I don’t know what the hell is his problem, it’s a little weird, a little something shaky going on there.” A psychologist has also warned that Trump himself is showing “dead ringer” symptoms of a serious disease. Newsom hit back by posting the video clip on X with the sharp line: “You really want to have the conversation about hands?”

Newsom’s jab pointed to the long-running scrutiny of Trump’s hands, which have appeared bruised and discolored in recent months. In February, Trump was photographed seemingly wearing makeup to cover a bruise on his right hand. More pictures later showed similar marks, including a bruise on his left hand, as stated by Irish Star.

White House explanation on Trump’s bruises

The issue got worse last week when Trump’s makeup looked much heavier than usual, creating a thick and uneven concealer patch that clashed with his skin tone. On Monday, during his Oval Office meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, Trump skipped the makeup and revealed a large, dark bruise across his hand.

The White House has tried to explain the marks, blaming them on “frequent handshaking” and the use of aspirin. Trump’s doctor, Sean Barbabella, said the bruises are “minor soft tissue irritation” and a “benign side effect” of aspirin therapy. The White House also revealed Trump has a chronic vein condition that has caused swelling in his legs, as stated by Irish Star.

Recent images even showed Trump with swollen ankles along with the bruised hands. Despite this, Dr. Barbabella insists Trump remains in “excellent health.” This hand and health controversy came shortly after pictures exposed Trump’s very thin real hair when he removed a helmet.
