Trump Mobile T1 phone delivery update: When customers can expect their devices

Trump Mobile’s T1 smartphone, released in June, has missed several delivery deadlines, leaving prepaid customers waiting into 2026. Estimated at the cost $499, the phone attracted interest, with hundreds of thousands paying $100 payments. The comp...

Trump Mobile T1 phone delivery update: When customers can expect their devices
Trump Mobile’s long-promised T1 smartphone is experiencing renewed scrutiny as delivery delays remain to frustrate customers.

One of the several commercial initiatives introduced by President Donald Trump’s family business since the 79-year-old resumed office was a flagship smartphone marketed under the Trump Mobile brand. Months following its high-profile launch, however, thousands of customers who made advance orders for the device stated that they are still waiting for clear details about when or if the phone will be delivered.

When Was the T1 Phone Expected to Launch?

The gold-colored T1 smartphone, estimated at $499, was primarily expected to be introduced between August and September. According to an Associated Press report, Trump Mobile has offered little public communication about the gadget’s status since then. The report estimates that over 590,000 buyers paid an initial amount of $100 as deposit to secure the device.

What Does the Website Say About Delivery Now?

Trump Mobile’s website earlier suggested that the device would be provided by the end of 2025. Currently as 2025 has over, the product page continues to show that the phone is shipping “later this year,” without providing a confirmed delivery date.

Has Trump Mobile Canceled the T1 Phone?

As delays remain and updates continue to be uncertain, customer frustration has intensified. Some buyers have started questioning whether it will ever be completed, with online complaints sparking rumors that the debut could be a scam. Calls for refunds have also increased, though Trump Mobile has not revealed any alterations to its preorder policy.

Despite the lingering confusions, the company has not cited that the phone has been canceled. The website remains to promote the T1 and suggests that it will still be provided to customers who made orders.

Manufacturing Claims Draw Scrutiny

When initially announced in June, the T1 phone was stated as being “designed and built in the United States.” Within weeks, that language was changed to “brought to life in the United States,” according to the Financial Times. No details were offered about whether manufacturing had moved overseas.

Industry experts state that producing a smartphone in the U.S. at a sub-$1,000 cost point is extremely concerning. The T1 was placed as a competitor to Apple’s iPhones, which generally retail between $800 and $1,200.

“They are probably finding that it is harder to build a phone than they thought it would be. Let’s see if this thing comes to life or not,” International Data Corp. analyst Francisco Jeronimo told the Associated Press.

How Has the Delay Sparked Political Reaction?

The delay has also resulted in political attention. In a Jan. 12 post on X, California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s Press Office reacted to news of the challenge, citing, “Sounds like FRAUD! Investigation coming???” echoing accusations often used by the Trump administration against political rivals.

The T1 phone is one of many Trump-branded items revealed in recent years, along with watches, cologne, and shoes. Critics state that these initiatives are capitalizing on Trump’s presidency, while supporters view them as natural brand expansions.

Meanwhile, Trump Mobile remains to sell its wireless service plan, estimated at $47.45 each month, even as questions about its flagship device continue to be unresolved.
