"She's watched the same thing that you watch and I watch, I see things that you don't get to see. It's horrible. She has got a great love of children,” Trump remarked, as per a report by the Daily Mail.

The president joked that "she has a wonderful son that she loves probably more than anybody including me," referring to their son, Barron Trump.

“I hate to say that but she loves her son, she loves children, she hates to see something like this happening,” he stated, as per a report by the Daily Mail.

"She's eager for it to be over." "She says it with great pride, openness, and sadness because so many people have been killed," he continued.

As part of the peace talks, Zelensky pointed out, Ukrainian children who were abducted by the Russians must be brought back to their families.

Ursula Von Der Leyen, president of the European Commission, expressed her desires for the return of "thousands" of Ukrainian children to their families, as per a report by the Daily Mail.

Every child must return to their family, as a mother and grandmother. Ensuring the return of the children to their families in Ukraine ought to be a top priority, she stated.

What did Melania do about the war?

Donald Trump said that Melania was so upset about the situation in Ukraine that she wrote a letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin herself. The letter, which later became public, begged for peace and for kids to be safe.

“Mr. Putin, you can singlehandedly restore their melodic laughter." "In protecting the innocence of these children, you will do more than serve Russia alone, you serve humanity itself,” Mrs. Trump wrote, as per a report by the Daily Mail.

Her message made it clear that she was not only the first lady, but also a mother who was very upset by pictures of Ukrainian children caught up in the war.

Why did Zelensky say thank you to the First Lady?

President Zelensky thanked Melania in public for her sincere outreach. He responded to her letter and stressed how important it is to bring Ukrainian children taken by Russia back to their families.

Zelensky thanked Trump and Melania for keeping the focus on the humanitarian side of the crisis and said, "This is so, so important, and I'm glad we talked about it."
