Donald Trump suddenly began referring to a CNN journalist with a woman's first name multiple times, something that ended up landing him in the headlines for all the wrong reasons, but has also helped in driving his appeal among hypermasculine males. Trump, while criticizing a town hall event where Harris was present, referred to CNN's prominent openly gay journalist Anderson Cooper as 'Allison' Cooper.

Trump acknowledged his 'mistake'

It may have gone unnoticed as a human error if it had been only done once, but Trump seemed to repeat this same thing again and again unless the audience got the hang of it that it was being done deliberately in order to prove a point. He even reportedly tried to 'admit' to the mistake and highlight it with a 'Oh no'. Anderson Cooper is one of CNN's top correspondents and has been quite active on the Presidential election front, and during a rally in Traverse City, Michigan, Trump kicked off a full-fledged criticism onslaught against the top journalist because of a town hall event that was hosted for Kamala Harris.

Why did Trump attack Cooper likes this all of a sudden?

After his reference to Anderson as Allison, Trump mocked his own 'mistake' by saying, "Oh, she said no, his name is Anderson. Oh, no." He even took to repeating this same mistake in another rally in Michigan, which then seemed like an attempt to turn to a stereotype heterosexual people have long deployed against gay men. Meanwhile, Trump's campaign has declined to comment on this latest controversy that has just hit the headlines.
