Trina Braxton husband dead: The passing of Von Scales, husband of singer and reality television personality Trina Braxton, has been confirmed at the age of 58. Scales became known to several viewers through his relationship with Braxton and appearances linked to Braxton Family Values, while also pursuing his own career as an entrepreneur.

A representative for the Braxton family confirmed Scales' passing on Thursday and asked the public to respect the family's privacy as they grieve.

What was Von Scales' cause of death?

TMZ reported that Scales passed away at around 2 a.m. Thursday in Atlanta, Georgia. Sources stated in the report said he had been dealing with "heart-related problems."


However, an official cause of death had not been revealed as of Thursday. It therefore remains unclear whether the reported heart-related concerns were associated to his death.

Braxton's representative confirmed the news in a statement.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Von Scales, beloved husband of Trina Braxton,” the representative stated. “The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers but is asking for privacy at this time as they navigate this unfortunate event.”

Von Scales and Trina Braxton's relationship

Scales was an entrepreneur based in Georgia and was reportedly connected with Hamilton Mill Family Complete Care as its Director of Wellness.

Braxton and Scales initially met in 2015 after being introduced on a blind double date arranged by a mutual friend from the St. Louis area.

Braxton later talked about their first meeting in an interview with Essence, describing that their initial date was a group outing which included former NFL player Jamie Dukes. A private date followed a few days later.

The duo became engaged in March 2019. Scales proposed in a family birthday trip to Napa Valley, California.

They tied the knot on December 15, 2019, at Windows on Washington in St. Louis.

After their marriage, Braxton spoke regarding their relationship and the significance of bringing their families together.

Scales became a recognizable personality to audiences through his marriage to Trina and his appearances linked with the family's reality television story.

Recently, he had also appeared along with Braxton in cooking videos which were posted on social media.
