The who's who of the metal music world also paid him tribute. Trivium's Matt Heafy called him a modern metal icon. Machine Head's Robb Flynn acknowledged how sweet he was and stated that Trevor came on his show about ten months back and he shared his struggling days while he was suffering from depression.
The Black Dahlia Murder band was established in the year 2000 and named themselves after the great and aspiring actor , Elizabeth Short's unsolved murder. Their influences have been Judas Priest, Pantera, and Metallica. They signed with Metal Blade Records after releasing numerous independent EPs in 2003. Their latest release was Verminous in 2020 which referred to metal fans as carriers of a cultural plague.
The Black Dahlia Murder had fluctuating members, but Brian Eschbach and Trevor were the only constants. Their most successful album was "Ritual," which climbed to No. 31 on the US Billboard.
Trevor was obsessed with fantasy and horror movies and called metal and horror a healthy outlet for negative energy. However, he admitted to being the only metal fan in his teenage group and how it was isolating. He used to visit record stores and look at all the music on skeletons, dragons, and artwork. He became fascinated and realized that it was his true calling.
He believed that the average person could not see his culture's merit and their world. He also thought that people didn't realize the passion metal fans have and how his passion shaped him.
In an interview last year, he said" I want my 40s to be awesome" also sharing his dream of The Black Dahlia Murder to stay alive for another 20 years.
