Travis Kelce’s father says his son and Taylor Swift headed for ‘good period’ in relationship

Travis Kelce's father, Ed Kelce, shared his thoughts on his son's high-profile relationship with singer Taylor Swift, stating that he is excited to see what the two of them will do with the blank space in their schedules.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end is currently gearing up for the side's Super Bowl LIX match against Philadelphia Eagles this week.

'Good period'

Speaking on Australia’s “Today” show on Thursday, Ed Kelce said that he believes Travis and Taylor Swift's relationship is headed for a “good period” after the 2025 Super Bowl.


"Without the NFL season, without the Eras Tour, (it will be) just them alone really connecting more,” Page Six quoted Ed as saying.

He added that it can "only be a good thing”.

The pop sensation ended her record-breaking tour in December last year after holding 149 shows spanning five continents in a period of two years.

However, during his interview, Ed avoided answering to the question about his youngest son proposing to the singer.

When co-host Karl Stefanovic asked whether engagement is on the cards in order to “book his fare,” Ed simply said, “Did you really think I was going to come up with that?”

'No idea'

Ed also said that he has "no idea" whether Swift, 35, will come up with a surprise performance at the Super Bowl or not.

Claiming that he has not talked to her this week, Ed stated he has "no idea what her plans are. I would let her publicist talk to you about that.”

Meanwhile, he has praised Swift as a “smart young lady" and a person who is "joy to be around”.

Taylor Swift 'enjoying' football

Ed even lauded Swift’s football knowledge. “She’s learning much more. She’s watching football with her dad, (Scott Swift), a lot. She’s watching football whenever she can," he added.

Sharing a "funny story" when his son's team were in the red zone during a game, Ed said that the side had to "go for a field goal"

"And I’m sitting there thinking, ‘I hate field goals.’ And Taylor comes back and says, ‘I’ll take the points.’ I’m thinking, ‘Look at you. A year ago, you didn’t know a field goal from an extra point, and now you’re doing all this football talk.’ So, I think she’s enjoying the game," he said.
