Travis Kelce skips Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl 2025 afterparty following loss to Philadelphia Eagles

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who is dating pop sensation Taylor Swift, opted to skip his team’s afterparty on Monday following their 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl LIX on Sunday.

On Monday, a viral video on X (formerly Twitter) showed Kelce on a FaceTime call with The Chainsmokers.

The electronic music group, featuring Alex Pall and Drew Taggart, mentioned performing at the Kansas City Chiefs afterparty in the video, reported People.


Kelce looked in good spirits in the video as he had a smile on his face while speaking with them over the phone.

“Dom is here too,” one person yelled while Kelce's camera was turned to DJ Dom Dolla.

Players skip afterparty

A source said that several Kansas City Chiefs players, including Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, chose to skip the afterparty, opting to return to their rooms or accommodations instead.

The event was attended by friends and family members of the players and featured performances by Quavo and Machine Gun Kelly. Many fans, especially younger ones, arrived dressed in Chiefs gear.

What happened last year?

In 2024, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated San Francisco 49ers 25-22 during the Super Bowl match.

After the match, Kelce remained present for the post-game festivities and was seen partying with The Chainsmokers, fellow players as well as Taylor Swift.

Back then, a video showed him getting onstage and dancing to “You Belong with Me,” Swift's hit single from 2008.

Kelce and The Chainsmokers even celebrated together at the Chiefs’ afterparty in Las Vegas following the side's 2023 win against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kelce is reportedly a good friend of Alex Pall and Drew Taggart, while the trio have been seen partying together on several occasions in the past as well.

In May 2024, Taylor Swift's partner was seen hanging out with the band members in what looked like a backstage area during The Chainsmokers' Kentucky Derby show in Louisville.
