Travis Kelce crafts Taylor Swift-style friendship bracelets in NFL 'Easter Eggs' cartoon

In the NFL's playful promotion of Christmas Day Games for Nickelodeon's NFL on Nickmas, they highlighted the romantic connection between 34-year-old Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce and global music sensation Taylor Swift. The cartoon graphic features a cartoon version of Kelce donning his No. 87 jersey, seated next to a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, engaged in stringing together beads for friendship bracelets.

The post's caption invites fans to "unwrap all the surprises" during the Christmas Day NFL special, prompting viewers to spot the Easter eggs hidden in the graphic. Swift's dedicated fanbase, known as Swifties, will likely recognize the nod to the lyrics "So make the friendship bracelets / Take the moment and taste it" from her song "You're on Your Own, Kid."

The friendship bracelet trend, inspired by Swift's concerts, became a staple at her shows and played a role in sparking Taylor Swift's initial interest in Kelce before their romantic involvement. Kelce, a Chiefs star, was spotted trading these Swift-themed bracelets with fans at one of her concerts in July, further fueling the connection between the two.


In a podcast episode, Kelce shared his plan to give Swift his phone number on a friendship bracelet during the show but was unable to do so. Swift, however, reached out to him after he publicly mentioned his missed opportunity on the podcast. Swift revealed in December that they started hanging out soon after, enjoying a period of privacy before the public was aware of their connection.

The NFL's Nickmas cartoon serves as a promotional tool for the Chiefs' Christmas Day game against the Las Vegas Raiders. It features caricatures of key players from both teams engaged in festive activities, adding a touch of holiday cheer to the upcoming matchup at Arrowhead Stadium.
