Traces of organic findings on Mars! NASA's Perseverance Rover makes a huge discovery

NASA makes new discovery on Mars as "building blocks of life" found. The organic material samples have now been stored in preparation for a future special mission to recover them and return them to Earth.

NASA researchers have made a significant Mars finding after the Perseverance rover recovered multiple samples of organic material from what was once an old river delta on the Red Planet. The rover is searching for evidence of early life on Mars. The US Space Agency is preparing a future mission that will bring the first fragments of Mars back to Earth by retrieving the samples the rover acquired.

In a news briefing, Perseverance project scientist Ken Farley stated and said that the rocks they had been looking at on the delta have the highest concentration of organic content. This is different from what they yet found on the mission.

He further continues that the fact that organic stuff can be found in rocks that were deposited in a habitable environment, such as a lake, is particularly intriguing because organic molecules constitute the basis for life.

The Mars rover has now collected a total of 12 samples after collecting these four samples in the delta, which was thought to have formerly been a lake bed.

This fan-shaped delta was created about 3.5 billion years ago at the confluence of a Martian lake and a river. It is located in the Jezero crater, where the NASA rover touched down.

NASA's DART (Double Asteroid Redirection Test) mission is slated to collide with the asteroid Dimorphos at 4.44 am IST on September 27.

The mission will evaluate a technique for deflecting asteroids that could harm Earth. The "kinetic impact method" of asteroid impact avoidance involves diverting asteroids by using the collision of a large object, such as a spaceship.

Dimorphos does not actually pose a threat to Earth, but researchers will compare the data from the actual impact of DART with the numerous computer simulations which they have already compiled.

The Perseverance rover is currently examining the sedimentary rocks of the river delta. These rocks, like those on Earth, were created when the regions were formerly covered in water and carried numerous particles of varied sizes, which eventually settled down.

The Jezero crater floor was studied during the Rover's first science campaign, and there it found igneous rock, which is formed deep below from magma or as a byproduct of volcanic activity on the surface.

NASA is currently conducting research in the river delta where it has found organic materials. The latest discovery was made in an area where silt and salts were accumulated into a lake billions of years ago, despite the fact that both the Perseverance and also the Curiosity rover have previously found this type of material.
These sediments, according to the researchers, were formed in environments that might have supported the existence of life.
