In a recent development, Toyota has issued recalls for a total of nearly 2.5 million vehicles in 2023, citing various defects that pose safety risks. The latest recall, affecting 1 million vehicles, stems from a defect that may hinder airbags from deploying, raising concerns about passenger safety.

Affected customers are expected to be notified by mid-February 2024. To check if their vehicles are part of the recall, customers can visit toyota.com/recall and enter their vehicle identification number.

Feb. 1 recall: RAV4 Prime
Affected Model: Certain 2021 RAV4 Prime Plug-In Hybrid vehicles
Issue: Risk of the hybrid system shutting down and stalling while driving in EV Mode in cold weather conditions if the accelerator is rapidly pressed.

Some 2022-2023 Tundra and Tundra Hybrid vehicles with a Toyota genuine accessory tonneau cover
