Toyota is one of the largest car manufacturers in the world, and it has all of a sudden been pulled into a major storm of controversy after it decided to recall over 140,000 of its manufactured vehicles due to safety issues in them, according to a PennLive report.

In the press release by Toyota, it was stated that Toyota is recalling about 106,000 models of its Tacoma 4-wheel drive vehicles, followed by Toyota Camry and Lexus NX vehicles comprising the remainder of the total figure.

For starters, the Tacoma model of Toyota is being recalled because of problems surrounding vehicle safety. According to Pennlive, the rear brake hoses in these vehicles can be damaged over time due to a build-up of mud and dirt in the rear wheels. This could typically arise when there is more off-roading of these vehicles, and if this phenomenon occurs, a brake fluid leak could occur, resulting in a fatal crash.


In the case of Camry and Lxus, its second-row center seatbelt could be weaker and may have been damaged during the manufacturing process. They may not have the expected strength that is required to ensure maximum safety of the passenger, says the report.
