Mark Cavendish has chose Tour de France 2024 to rip up some old record books and write some new ones, using his hundreds of thousand pounds worth of equipment. A Daily Star report suggests Cavendish wears socks worth £1,000 during the ongoing Tour de France, where he has currently surpassed the record of highest stage wins. The previous record of the highest stage wins was 34, set by Eddy Merckx, which was comfortably broken by Cavendish on July 3.

Astana left no room for errors in Cavendish' logistics, including providing him the aero bike Wilier Triestina Filante SLR, which is equipped with state-of-the-art mechanism and is priced at a whopping £10,316 in the market.

How expensive are Mark Cavendish' gears in Tour de France 2024?

However, the bike he rides is in fact the cheapest among all the other bikes on the run in Tour de France but they are custom made according to his requirements, which include a few twists and turns for maximum output and efficiency. Cavendish' Nopinz P35 socks come for £1,000, which is somehow a mark of royalty, and gives his feet the comfort it needs due to its breathable material.

Cavendish' Richard Mille watch the most expensive among his gears

The most-eye catching and expensive part of his bike is his Richard Mille watch that come between a price range of £141,000 to £117,000, according to Daily Star. Even though Garmin could be a suitable alternative for Tour de France, Cavendish has decided to stick by his choice, RM011.
