Severe Weather to Hit South-Central US

Intense thunderstorms and tornadoes affected the south-central US on Tuesday, and more severe weather is forecast for the West. The National Weather Service has notified the public of tornado watches in the south-central US and warned of hazardous conditions in Mississippi and Louisiana. Tornado watches will be in effect till early Wednesday.

Thunderstorms affected the regions from Georgia to eastern Texas and towards the North to Indiana.

The tornadoes that touched the ground caused structural damage. Long-track tornadoes can cause winds of up to 165 mph.
