Top Boy’s next season not delayed despite filming break
Production of Top Boy was temporarily paused for creative discussions, but Netflix has confirmed that the final season is going ahead as planned.

The production of Top Boy Season 5 was temporarily stopped. Reports said that Kane Robinson was unhappy with the planned storyline for his character, Sully, and stormed off the set. Other reports suggested that a misunderstanding on the set created chaos on the shoot. This led to production being paused while the producers, Netflix, Easter Partisan, and Cowboy Films, discussed how to proceed with the show. Netflix also denied the reports that Robinson stormed off the set, stating that the cast always maintained a professional atmosphere on set.
Netflix explained that change is a part of the creative process that is not uncommon. Things change, and new ideas develop as a show is in the middle of production. Netflix stated that this is expected and that the show's flexibility to adapt and change makes it better for fans. Production has resumed, and Netflix indicated that it will air in 2023.
