Tom Hanks asks why Pixar replaced Tim Allen as the voice of Buzz Lightyear
Recently, Pixar replaced Tim Allen for the voiceover of Buzz Lightyear. They appointed Chris Evans in his place, making Tom Hanks question the replacement. Read on to know how the veteran actor responded.

Responding to questions, the director of the movie, Angus MacLane, stated that replacing Allen was an intentional choice. On the other hand, Chris Evans defended his casting, saying that the current film is not based on the toy. Instead, it is based on the real-life astronaut on whom the toy was initially based.
Chris Evans has starred in many movies. Recently, he has become popular for portraying the character of Captain America in the Marvel universe.
Tom Hanks voiced Woody, the main protagonist in the earlier Pixar movies. Currently, he is starring in Baz Luhrmann’s film ‘Elvis." He was asked whether he would feel strange starring in a film playing opposite the latest Pixar movie. Hanks responded by saying he wanted to go head-on with Tim Allen, voicing Buzz Lightyear. However, as Pixar has replaced Allen, Hanks mentioned that he didn’t understand the replacement. He also added that he knew that Chris Evans was the new voiceover for the character.
Hanks said he wanted to go to a theatre with strangers and then leave with something they had in common. He said that going to a movie with Allen would allow him to do that.
Tim Allen and Tom Hanks became friends after doing voiceovers for Buzz Lightyear and Woody, respectively, in the ‘Toy Story' movies. The first movie came out in 1995, and their friendship has continued. After that, they appeared in the subsequent three sequels of the film that were released in 1999, 2010 and 2019.
