Tom Browning, former Reds pitcher, passes away at age of 62
Tom Browning, the ex-Reds pitcher who threw a perfect game, has passed away.

The Burlington police responded to an emergency call from Browning’s residence on Monday afternoon. When they reached his home, they found him unresponsive, and the first responders attempted life-saving measures on him, but they failed to revive him. He was declared dead at 1:13 PM EST. Authorities reported that they do not suspect any foul play.
In a press release, the Cincinnati Reds expressed that they were shocked and deeply saddened by Tom Browning’s death. He was called Mr Perfect affectionately by the Reds and was involved with the team even after retirement. He was inducted into the Reds Hall of Fame and continued interacting with his fans in the various Reds Community fundraising activities. They also expressed their deepest condolences to Tom’s family during their grief.
Born in Casper, WY, Thomas Leo Browning completed his schooling at Franklin Academy and started playing college baseball at Le Moyne College in Syracuse. He was chosen by the Reds in the ninth round of the June 1982 MLB Draft. He debuted in MLB in 1984 and won a career-best 20 games in 1985. He threw the perfect game on 16 September 1988 in a match against LA Dodgers as he tossed seven strikeouts. He won the World Series in 1990 and became an All-Star in 1991.
