Todd Snider assault: Singer-songwriter Todd Snider has announced the cancellation of his 2025 tour following a violent assault in Salt Lake City. The 59-year-old Portland, Oregon, native, known for his blend of folk, rock, blues, and alt-country, had just kicked off the “High, Lonesome and Then Some Tour” in support of his latest album released on October 17.

What happened to Todd Snider and new tour dates

A note shared by Aimless, Inc. on Snider’s social media pages confirmed the disruption. “We deeply apologize for the cancellation and any inconvenience it may cause,” the post read. “We appreciate your understanding as Todd receives needed medical treatment. We hope to have more information on new dates soon.”


Why Todd Snider canceled his tour

The cancellation comes after Snider was assaulted in Salt Lake City. While details about the incident remain limited, the singer’s team emphasized that he would need time to recover and receive medical treatment. “Todd will be unable to perform for an undetermined period of time,” the social media post added.

2025 “High, Lonesome and Then Some” tour details

The tour had just begun on October 30, with a scheduled night off on Halloween before the Salt Lake City show. Snider’s website listed 11 remaining dates in 2025, along with seven additional shows planned for January and February.

Todd Daniel Snider (born October 11, 1966) is an American singer-songwriter known for blending folk, rock, blues, alt-country, and funk. Born in Portland, Oregon, and raised in Beaverton, Snider discovered his passion for music after seeing Jerry Jeff Walker perform at Gruene Hall in Texas, prompting him to start writing songs immediately.

Early in his career, Snider was mentored by songwriter Kent Finlay at San Marcos’ Cheatham Street Warehouse, who introduced him to the works of Kris Kristofferson, Guy Clark, John Prine, and Shel Silverstein. Over time, Snider built a devoted following in Texas, performing in intimate venues across San Marcos and Austin.
