For the role of ‘Spider-Man 4,’ Tobey Maguire is driving a hard bargain, and it's all about that giant check.

Besides being a well-known poker player, Tobey Maguire is using all of his well-honed take-no-prisoners strategies to land a role in the upcoming Spider-Man film and make a fortune doing it, as quoted in a report by In Touch.

One of Tobey's business associates and friends says that the checks for Spider-Man have been, for the last twenty-two years, the foundation of Tobey's wealth and key to the prosperity of his entourage and team as well.


The 2001 release of the first modern live-action Spider-Man was one of the first of Marvel's blockbusters that would eventually result in the superhero's inclusion in the labyrinthine extended universe in 2015.

Andrew Garfield concluded his stint as Spider-Man after The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014, with Tom Holland assuming the role in the MCU from Captain America: Civil War in 2016.

Holland starred in Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) and reprised the character in Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), the latter featuring cameos from Garfield and Tobey Maguire, delighting audiences. Following the success of No Way Home, which became the highest-grossing film in the franchise, Garfield is negotiating to return for the proposed Spider-Man 4 set for 2026.

Meanwhile, Tom Holland and Zendaya are confirmed to reprise their roles. However, the return of Tobey Maguire remains uncertain, as he is known to demand substantial compensation for his appearances, with sources indicating that his strong negotiation tactics and financial expectations will play a pivotal role in any potential return.
