Timur Khizriev, PFL champion, shot five times in Makhachkala

Timur Khizriev, the undefeated 2024 PFL Featherweight Champion, was injured in a shocking shooting incident in Makhachkala, Dagestan in Russia. The attack occurred as Khizriev was unloading his car in a residential courtyard when two masked assailants ambushed him.

According to VestnikMMA, the attackers fired five close-range shots using a traumatic pistol. Khizriev was struck in the back by the first bullet but managed to turn and take down one of the attackers before the second opened fire. The assailants fled the scene in a white vehicle, triggering a widespread manhunt across the city.



Khizriev’s management confirmed to MMAJunkie that the fighter is currently hospitalized but in stable condition, and his life is not in danger.

Khizriev (18-0) claimed the 2024 PFL featherweight title with a dominant performance over former champion Brendan Loughnane, earning a $1 million prize and cementing his place as one of the sport’s rising stars.
