This is the first time that Gracie has publicly come out about her sexuality with the public. Her post received mass support online, with fans and members of the LGBTQ+ community identifying with her. Gracie followed it up by highlighting where Pride began, sharing a graphic that read, "Pride began as a riot led by Black & Brown trans activists," evidencing her knowledge of the history of the movement and expressing her unity with the greater queer community.
Though Tim McGraw and Faith Hill have yet to make a public statement regarding Gracie's announcement, both artists have a long history of being supportive of their kids and the LGBTQ+ community. Faith Hill had offered words of encouragement when fellow country singer Chely Wright publicly came out as a lesbian in 2010. Tim McGraw has also been proud to speak about Gracie's resilience and independence, previously telling PEOPLE, "She makes me proud every day because she's such a strong, independent young lady who speaks her mind".
Gracie, also a gifted singer and actress, has frequently posted about her life and career on social media. Most recently, she performed with "The Great War & The Great Gatsby" at Carnegie Hall with her parents in the audience to support her. As she lives openly as herself, Gracie's openness provides an invaluable voice to the ongoing discussion regarding LGBTQ+ representation and acceptance within the entertainment industry.
