An apparent wisecrack on Twitter about President Joe Biden has put veteran American Actor and comedian Tim Allen under fire. Allen's joke was about the President's appearance on the Sunday CBS show, Sixty-minutes. Allen tweeted the next day (Monday), which created a controversy.

The Tim Allen Tweet

Allen wrote about the President being on the sixty-minute show and apparently heard him (The President) saying what the duration of the show is) how long is the show?) Allen soon became viral, and controversy erupted soon after, with many tweets slamming Allen for his disrespectful comment on the President.

Critics on Fire

Several Twitter users claimed that Allen's act of being disrespectful (to the President) was not only foolish but perhaps his desperate bid to stay relevant. Few said that Tim needs to improve on his comedy material. Detractors also brought in the dimensions to the controversy. A Twitter user wrote that Allen's frequent unsavoury comments, like the latest one, are responsible for being replaced as Buzz Light-year from the recent version of Toy Story, The Light year. Some critics also raked up the issue of Allen's prison term.

Tim Allen was arrested in 1978 for possessing over a pound of cocaine at the Michigan Airport. He served a two and half year prison term. Tim avoided possible life imprisonment by becoming an approver and disclosing details of other drug dealers. However, after his release, he promised his fans to lead a sober life and maintain a sober lifestyle for over two decades.

Allen Not without Support

Several fans, however, supported the actor in the controversy. A fan exclaimed that if Tim is being replaced (in Toy Story) for a silly comment on Twitter, it's a shame on the channel producers.
