TikTok influencer Esmeralda FG and family found dead in Guadalajara

A Tik Tok influencer was found dead with three of her family members in western Mexico. Esmeralda Ferrer Garibay, 32, the influencer, her husband Licea Garibay, 36, and their two children, a 13-year-old boy and a 6-year-old girl. The bodies were found on Friday, August 22, in the San Andrés neighborhood of Guadalajara.

Garibay, known as Esmeralda FG on TikTok. The family originally is from south of Jalisco, in the Mexican state of Michoacán. Licea Garibay sold cars in Michoacán, according to prosecutors. A Mexican newspaper El Financiero reported that Licea farmed tomatoes in nearby Michoacán, according to the report by USA Today.

Family found dead in Guadalajara

The bodies were found wrapped in plastic at a mechanic’s shop. Officials said the violence seemed directed at the husband, not Esmeralda. The bodies were discovered inside a late-model truck at the mechanic’s shop, as per the report by USA Today.

The office's deputy prosecutor, Alfonso Gutiérrez Santillán, said “The scene was processed, and investigators found multiple pieces of evidence suggesting the family was killed there” “While the forensic results are not yet in, ballistic and blood evidence almost certainly confirm they were murdered at that location”, he added. This showed the crime location was the mechanic's shop, and authorities then conducted a preliminary investigation at the shop.

The site is under official authority, and experts from the Jalisco Institute of Forensic Sciences are gathering evidence for the investigation. Investigators from the Specialized Investigation Unit for Intentional Homicides of the Jalisco Attorney General’s Office are working with the Jalisco Security Secretary, the National Guard, and other federal agencies to find the killers, as stated by USA Today.
