Tiger Woods is set to kick off his 2024 season next week at the Genesis Invitational.

Woods, aged 48, is gearing up for his return to a regular PGA Tour event at the Genesis Invitational next week. It marks his first appearance in such an event since the same tournament last year, where he finished tied for 45th place. Following that, he managed to make the cut at the Masters two months later but had to withdraw during the weekend due to a foot injury, as per NBC report.

Subsequently, Tiger Woods underwent fusion surgery to address the lingering issues in his lower right leg, which originated from the car accident he had in 2021, NBC reported.


The Genesis will be played February 15-18 at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif. It is one of the PGA Tour's "designated events" for 2024, expected to draw a top field vying for a share of the $20 million purse.

Jon Rahm won the tournament in 2023 but now is a member of LIV Golf and won't be on hand to defend his title.

Woods has played in 14 tournaments at Riviera and never has won. His best finish came in 1999 when he finished second at the Nissan Los Angeles Open, as the tournament formerly was known.
