The Three Mile Island’s Nuclear Power Plant is again going to restart after it ceased to work back in 2019 following an announcement from Exelon which is the father-company of Constellation that they are incurring losses on a huge scale. The Nuclear Power plant of Three Mile Island is also tragically infamous due to the worst accident which took place there in the year 1979 leaving the Unit 2 reactor totally destroyed but the Unit 1 reactor was saved and it was still functioning.

Associated Press asserted that Constellation Energy has plans of bringing the Unit 1 into its proper functioning capacity within 2028 but restarting only Unit 1 will require a lot of investments which they are willing to bear adding the fact that it will also require the permission of the U.S Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Among Microsoft and Constellation Energy, no entity disclosed any terms of the agreement which they will be having and Microsoft buying the power from Three Mile Island’s Nuclear Power plant will be in such a way so that Microsoft can fulfill its commitment of becoming totally Carbon Negative within 2030.
