Three Americans die, one hospitalized at a resort in Bahamas; State Department monitoring investigation
Three Americans died at a resort in the Bahamas, and the State Department said on Sunday that it is closing monitoring the Royal Bahamian Police investigation.

The State Department stated that they confirmed the death of three citizens of the U.S. in the Bahamas. They also said that they are closely monitoring the investigation by the relevant authorities to find out the cause of death. The Department claims that it is ready to provide any consular assistance that is appropriate and that they would not add anything further due to the privacy of the families of the citizens.
The police stated that the Sandals' staff informed the Bahamian police that they found a man unresponsive in one villa and a man and a woman in another villa who was also unresponsive. The police found the man dead on the scene, and there were no trauma injuries on his body.
The second villa had an unresponsive man who slumped in the bathroom against a wall and a woman unresponsive in bed. They also did not have any trauma signs and were dead on the scene.
The police also stated that the couple received treatment at a medical facility the day before and returned to the hotel. They showed no signs of convulsion. The three victims' identities have not been released. Additionally, the Acting Prime Minister of Bahamas, Chester Cooper, stated that an American woman was taken to the hospital by air. He also said that the police are not suspecting any foul play.
Dr. Michael Darville informed that a few guests in the hotel had to be treated for vomiting and nausea on Thursday. Physicians and environmental health scientists have flown into the Bahamas to check and ensure that there is no public health hazard.
