Thousands gathered in Memphis to honour Liza Fletcher, who was abducted during her morning walk and murdered a week ago. Hundreds gathered at a church in Memphis and huddled for silence in honour of Liza Fletcher.

Heineman told her fellow runners that everyone had gathered to finish Liza's run and honour her. Around 200 people collected before the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception at 3:45 a.m., which is around four miles away from where Liza was kidnapped. The crowd increased to around 1,000 runners just before the start of the run at 4:20 a.m. Simultaneously, around 1,000 more people gathered at the end of the route. Police closed several blocks and stayed for protection while some women spoke about teaming up as a buddy system for their safety. Doug Christofferson waited on the church's steps as he was there to support his wife, who participated in the run. He said the movement started a few days back with a couple of girls using Facebook to increase awareness. Once word got out, around 1,000 people gathered in Liza's honor.
