After leading opinion polls since she joined the race as an official Democratic nominee, Kamala Harris has consolidated her position so much that it would be difficult for Donald Trump to beat her in the US Presidential Election 2024. In a survey conducted by 'Outward Intelligence', the vice president was found leading the former president 49% - 43%. Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. got 7%, while Jill Stein, Cornel West, and Chase Oliver received less than 1% support each.

According to the data published on the official website of 'Outward Intelligence', 53% of women voters backed Harris 53% rise of 13 points from the previous poll. On the other hand, 46% of men supported Trump, 2 points more than before. While 64% of Blacks supported the first Black vice president, 26% of Asian voters backed the woman whose mother was an Indian. Similarly, about 15% of Hispanics supported Kamala Harris. On the other hand, whites support Trump by 4 points.

Blacks, Asians back Harris

While urban and suburban areas back Harris by 23 and 13 points, respectively, rural areas back Trump by almost 30 points. Similarly, all generations back Harris except for Millennials, who support Trump by 1 point.


Outward Intelligence was surveyed between August 11 and August 15, 2024. It used an online sample of 1,858 likely voters.

Kamala Harris closes gap in Rust Belt

Earlier, Axios reported that Kamala Harris closed the gap in the Rust Belt comprising Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Harris's increased popularity is in contrast to FiveThirtyEight's national average when Joe Biden trailed Donald Trump by 2.4 percentage points in Michigan, 2.3 percentage points in Wisconsin, and 4.4 percentage points in Pennsylvania.

Kamala Harris has lead over Donald Trump in Rust Belt

In a poll conducted by New York Times/Siena College, Kamala Harris was found to lead Donald Trump by four percentage points in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan among likely voters in the states.
