San Francisco city government's decision was implemented despite the continuing propaganda in China backing Russia's confrontation with Ukraine.
According to Chinese state media, the flag-raising event took place on Friday with participation from local business executives and Chinese city officials.
On October 1, the communist state detractors claim to have killed millions of people since the Chinese Communist Party seized power in 1949 and celebrated the anniversary of its birth. Questions about the flag-raising were sent to the press office by a representative of San Francisco Mayor London Breed; however, the press office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The massive blazes are also becoming harder to fight. On Wednesday, officials said wind-whipped flames led two firefighters to deploy the emergency fire shelters they carry in case of imminent danger from flames. The firefighters were assigned to the Glass Fire in Napa County on Sunday when gusty off-shore winds fanned the fire, forcing them to deploy the shelters after flames overwhelmed them. San Francisco recently had issues with sewage, drug markets, and homelessness. The entry of fentanyl and fentanyl precursors produced in China through Mexico has aggravated the drug crisis in the United States. Overdoses caused by fentanyl claimed the lives of over 100,000 people. It seems to go against the liberal city's well-known support for human rights to fly the Chinese flag.
