This group of people could clinch the U.S election for Kamala Harris
Recent polls indicate that although former President Trump is getting some traction among Latino and Black voters, one group is moving away from him.

In spite of former President Trump making progress recently with Latino and Black voters, the polling suggests White women are moving decidedly away from him in battleground states.
Notably, in 2020, Trump won the White women's vote by seven points; whereas his current advantage has eroded to a mere one point.
Enten's analysis reveals that Harris lags behind some groups compared with the 2020 performance of Biden, but she has reached historic levels of support among White women, which is an important portion of the electorate bloc accounting for approximately 36%.

The votes of this group are very influential in determining whether the election result goes one way or the other. As Enten observed, "Shifts among white women tend to impact the electorate more than shifts among larger groups with smaller shares.".
A New York Times/Siena College survey released last month found that abortion is the No. 1 voting issue for 27% of women in the critical swing states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, where over 80% of voters are white.
Suburban white women have largely become GOP opponents since Roe v. Wade was reversed last year.
This could be significant as the elections draw near because it shows Harris can hold and build up her support among White women. Enten said "If she were to win the election, it could largely be because of how well she performed with this important voting group.".

FAQs:
Q1: Why White women are an essential voting block for Kamala Harris in the 2024 election?White women constitute about 36% of the electorate. Q2: How have the voting intentions of White women differed from the intentions expressed in the 2020 election?
In 2020, Trump led White women by seven points. Current analyses indicate he leads this group by only one point--a major shift that may arguably work to Harris's advantage.
