According to Turner, she attended the afterparty with her childhood friend, who was a fan of a particular actor. At her friend's request, Turner waved at the actor. Later in the evening, a well-known actress confronted Turner, accusing her of flirting with her fiancé.
“And then later I see this girl looking at me, and she’s a famous actress, and I was like, ‘Oh, I have to go and tell her how much she means to me,'” Turner shared.
‘Can you stop f**king flirting with my fiancé?'” referring to the guy the “Do Revenge” star had just waved to. Turner claimed the couple “broke their engagement off that night.”
While Turner did not disclose the identities of those involved, speculation has centered on Emma Roberts and Evan Peters. The couple, who were engaged in early 2014, attended Comic-Con events together that year. Photographs from the event show Roberts visibly upset afterward, fueling rumors that their engagement ended shortly thereafter.
Representatives for Roberts and Peters have not commented on the matter. Despite what allegedly transpired, Turner and Peters went on to star in two films together: “X-Men: Apocalypse” in 2016 and “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” in 2019.
