John Krasinski is People magazine's 2024 Sexiest Man Alive. During The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday night, the magazine revealed the actor, writer, and director as its selection, as quoted in a report by The AP.

Before starting the Quiet Place franchise and directing the action series Jack Ryan, Krasinski starred in The Office. In an interview with the magazine, he made a joke about how he hopes his wife, Emily Blunt, a fellow actor, will fulfil their vow to make the cover their home's wallpaper.

He follows in the footsteps of Patrick Dempsey, last year's honouree. The 45-year-old Krasinski told People that he had just immediate blackout, actually in response to the honour. No ideas. He went on to say that he believed he was being pranked.

He first gained popularity as the lanky, floppy-haired Jim in the American mockumentary The Office. He also co-wrote, directed, and starred in the three-film franchise A Quiet Place and produced the brief but wildly successful web series Some Good News set during the pandemic.

He made his directorial debut earlier this year with ‘IF,’ a movie about imaginary friends that also starred Blunt.

Krasinski told the magazine People that the honour is probably going to lead to more than domestic jokes. He joked that it's going to make him do more household chores.
