The Dropout, a Hulu series, portrays about Elizabeth Holmes and demise of her health-tech business, Theranos, as a consequence of two whistleblowers, Erika Cheung and Tyler Shultz. Both Cheung and Shultz were whistleblowers at Theranos, as depicted in The Dropout, a Hulu series about Holmes and her firm Theranos.

In 2015, the two corroborated their testimonies and told the Wall Street Journal about their encounters in order to expose the facts about Theranos.

Cheung left Theranos at the time and has since given a TED Talk on her experiences there. She is the Co-Founder of Ethics in Entrepreneurship, according to her LinkedIn profile. She started working with Antibody Solutions as a Research and Development Associate in September 2014.

Shultz, the grandson of former United States Secretary of State and Theranos board member George Shultz, founded his own company.

Erika disclosed in her TED Talk that Theranos was tampering with statistics in their laboratories.

According to Tyler, there was nothing that Edison could accomplish that he really can not perform with a beaker in his own hand.

It was evident that within Theranos, there was an open secret that this technology just didn't survive! Tyler added. Working for the company and being directed to change data points in the lab-made Erika unstable.

Where did Elizabeth Holmes go?

Holmes was found guilty on four counts and not guilty on four others on January 3, 2022.

Three more accusations were unresolved by the jury. She was convicted guilty of conspiracy to deceive shareholders, as well as wire fraud of $38 million from Brian Grossman, $100 million from the DeVos family, $6 million from retired Cravath attorney Dan Mosley, and $99 million from Lakeshore Capital Management LP.
