Kelly Osbourne became the first family member to speak publicly. On Thursday, she posted on Instagram Stories a poignant quote from the duet “Changes,” which she recorded with her father in 2003. In her tribute, Kelly wrote:
“I feel unhappy, I am so sad. I lost the best friend I ever had.”
Dubbed “The Prince of Darkness,” Ozzy had battled Parkinson’s disease since at least 2003, a condition publicly disclosed in 2020. Despite his declining health, he remained engaged in family life and continued performing until shortly before his death.
Meanwhile, Lisa Stelly, 38, Jack Osbourne’s ex-wife and mother of three of Ozzy’s grandchildren, shared a heartfelt Instagram tribute of her own. She posted several images capturing Ozzy interacting affectionately with his grandchildren—playing, painting, and traveling together. In her caption, she wrote:
She added “Love you, Papa,” set to the track “See You on the Other Side,” underscoring Ozzy’s cherished role within the family.
Ozzy’s sisters, Jean Powell and Gillian Hemming, shared their own memories of him. Jean told The Mirror that though Ozzy appeared frail before his final show, he maintained his humor and spirit:
“He was frail, but it still came as a shock... he was still our John, still cracking the jokes.” She also noted her appreciation that Ozzy passed away in England, their longtime home.
