‘The Witcher’ Season 2 Recap: Know what happened before you stream season 3

Netflix created an all-new fanbase with the introduction of “The Witcher”. Sooner, it was renewed for a second season that came off at the end of 2021. Now, a third season is coming out and this time, it will be released in two volumes. The first volume will have 5 episodes and the second volume features 3 episodes. It will be released on June 29 and July 27, respectively. The trailer is out, therefore, fans can have a glimpse.

‘THE WITCHER’ SEASON 2 RECAP

The Witcher season 2 gets started with the aftermath of the Battle of Sodden. Geralt takes Princess Ciri to Kaer Morhen, where they reunite with other witchers. Yennefer escapes and returns to Aretuza, losing her powers in the process.

Kaer Morhen faces an unexpected twist when one of the witchers transforms into a leshy, leading to suspicions about Yennefer being a spy. However, she is given a chance to prove her innocence by executing Cahir. Surprisingly, Yennefer chooses to free him and flees alongside him.

As Ciri trains with Geralt, she unveils her magical abilities, which lead to the discovery of a connection between monsters and monoliths. Yennefer and Cahir uncover a smuggling operation involving elves orchestrated by the bard Jaskier. Geralt and Istredd's investigation of the fallen monoliths brings them face-to-face with a menacing flying monster.

The paths of Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer intersect later at the Temple of Melitele. Yennefer imparts the knowledge of summoning portals to Ciri, allowing them to escape.

Ciri plans to attack Nilfgaardians, while Geralt and Yennefer face the Deathless Mother. Chaos ensues, and Ciri is possessed. The Wild Hunt appears, but Ciri teleports them to Kaer Morhen. Francesca seeks revenge, Emhyr reveals his identity, and an arrest order follows. Season 3 will continue the story.
