Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, known as The Weeknd, has achieved a major milestone. His 'After Hours Til Dawn' tour has earned over one billion dollars. This makes it the top-grossing tour by a male solo artist. The tour continues with new dates planned u...

Launched in 2022, the tour has thundered through North America (twice), Europe, the UK, Latin America and Australia, and will next surge into Mexico, Brazil, Europe and the UK again in 2026. Only two tours in history have earned more: Coldplay’s “Music of the Spheres” at $1.5 billion and Taylor Swift’s unprecedented “Eras Tour,” which has topped $2 billion.
The Weeknd’s record-breaking run comes after a banner year of accolades. In 2023, the Guinness Book of World Records named him “The Most Popular Artist in the World.” His megahit “Blinding Lights” was also certified Diamond by the RIAA and crowned the new No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 song of all time, eclipsing Chubby Checker’s 1960 classic “The Twist.”
Beyond commercial dominance, the Canadian singer-songwriter, record producer and actor, born February 16, 1990, is channeling his success toward humanitarian efforts. The Weeknd has committed more than $8.5 million to the XO Humanitarian Fund and Global Citizen, with proceeds from the 2026 tour stretch set to support the World Food Program through Global Citizen.
Fans will also have a chance to snag free tickets: one pair will be available for each tour date through Global Citizen. Produced by Live Nation and backed by Nespresso, the tour’s next leg launches on April 20 in Mexico City, followed by major stops in Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Paris, Amsterdam, Milan, London, and Madrid.
